Badger Solar Racing: Race Strategy Team

Working in a subteam of badger solar racing, the goal of the team is to optimize the usage of car's battery to maximize the car's potential. Things I've done/been doing are:

  • Implementing Isolation Forest algorithm to detect outliers in the car's sensor data.
    • I implemented Isolation Forest algorithm to detect outliers in the car's sensor data. I implemented this algorithm by following below sequence:
      • Implemented the Isolation Forest Algorithm
      • Tested the algorithm using sample toy data
      • Generate sample battery data using google gemini 2.5 pro
      • Testing by visualizing if the data cleaned better if we used our previously developed (interquartile method), the isolation forest algorithm, or both.
  • Developing lap counting program using GPS data to accurately track the number of laps completed during qualifications
    • Using python programming language to collect the real-world data
    • Display the result using javascript programming language
  • Developing Neural Networks Reinforcement Learning to help with the optimization. The optimization program is still under development. But we plan to make it using the following:
    • Using Proximal Policy Optimization algorithm to optimally find the best solution according to the policy defined
    • Using Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN) to optimally process data before the RL

UW-Madison Deliberation Dinners Project

An initiative that brings together UW-Madison undergraduates with diverse ideological perspectives to deliberate on important political issues.

I found this experience to be useful and exciting because not only we get to talk about wide variety of political issues. It also changed my view on how I approach things, meaning to not only standing between "yes" or "no situation", but to actually have a clear standing and idea on where I want to be in this topic. This experience also taught me how I can improve quality of discussions by bringing up one topic over another and how we can further develop a discussion topic when everyone seems to be in a concensus.

Personal Website

This website is built using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. It showcases my background, favorite quotes, projects, work experience, and extracurricular activities.

Morning Briefing AI Agent

This project was made with the help of google gemini

I learned to build an AI Agent with the task to help me brief my morning. The AI-Agent workflow can be seen as follows:

  • Gathering information from 3 sources: Canvas calendar, Weather, and Quotes
  • Processing and summarizing the information using LLM gemini 1.5 flash
  • Generating a concise morning briefing
  • Delivering the briefing via email
